2019 has been a great year for horror movies so far. From the genre-breaking release Us to the terrifying remake Pet Sematary and spin-off film The Curse of the Weeping Woman, there have been plenty of horror movies to satiate our thirst for gore. The second half of 2019 too has a lot of scares in store for us and some highly-awaited movies finally hit theatres all over the world. SCARY stories To Tell In The Dark

Based on the book by Alvin Schwartz, these spooky stories weave together a whole bunch of disconnected scary stories and folktales to create one singular terrifying narrative. The story follows a group of teens who set out to investigate a mysterious chain of deaths in their small hometown.

47 Meters Down: Uncaged

Cast: Nia Long, Sophia Nelisse

In yet another terrifying shark movie, four teenage girls diving in a ruined underwater city find out to their horror that they’ve entered the territory of a deadly shark species. What began as a joyous vacation soon turns into a battle for survival for them in the claustrophobic labyrinth of submerged caves.

In the middle of a devastating hurricane in Florida, a young woman ignores the evacuation orders and goes out in search of her missing father. The duo soon finds themselves trapped in the floods, with a greater threat emerging in the form of gigantic alligators.

Cast: Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Skarsgård

Though IT couldn’t get better? Now Pennywise is back, 27 years after his first haunt, to torment the members of the Losers Club once again. All grown up and living far away, the old gang is back at their childhood hangout because of a mysterious phone call that pulls them back into the madness of the evil dancing clown.

In a classic fun-night-gone-horribly-wrong style, this film follows a group of friends who find a laptop and decide to make a night out of exploring its contents. They stumble upon a folder of disturbing videos and receive an anonymous message that threatens everyone’s life. Suddenly, each person seems to be a target of a larger sinister plan and have to hatch a plan to fend for themselves.

The zombies are back and so are their slayers who entertained us on screen in the film’s prequel that released 10 years ago. Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock move to the American heartland, slaying more zombies than ever as their fight intensifies to include more evolved undead creatures. Meanwhile, the snarky foursome has to still face their biggest enemy – themselves!
