Verdict: The kind of humor that's not for everyone.

If you've watched the trailer of Iruthu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu, right off the bat, you know what's in store for you. From a seemingly endless number of double-meaning jokes to picturization and depiction of sex in some sort of secret code, this film goes above and beyond to tell you that the genre of the film is horror-comedy and nothing more, nothing less. It takes a rather weird turn towards the end of the first half of the film.

What's Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu about:

Veera (Gautham Karthik) and his parents are looking for a girl for his hand in marriage and he meets Thendril (Vaibhavi Shandilya) who decides to go for a trip to Pattaya, Thailand, along with Veera's friend Vasu (Shah Ra) and his girlfriend Kavya (Yaashikha Aanand) in order to build trust between each other. They rent a guest house by the beach and all is well until the men realise that they can't leave the house because there is a ghost (Chandrika Ravi) haunting the house. The only way they can leave is if they fulfill her one demand. Watch the film to know what this demand is. Enter Fr. Jack (Rajendran) and Mother Rose (Bala Saravanan), who the women bring in to get rid of the ghost. But both of them have their own agendas and are there for a whole different reason.

Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu review - BookMyShow Blog

What works:

The entire film is set in a Bigg Boss (the reality show) format which gives it a sort of different approach. The film is moderately funny. It is mostly a time pass film and is filled with sex jokes through and through. The actors have done a good job as well.

What could have been better:

The film's genre is horror-comedy, which is quite confusing for obvious reasons. Quite a few parts of the film were devoid of logic but otherwise a time pass film.

Why you should watch this film:

If you have nothing to do with your friends and enjoy watching a time pass film, then Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu is for you. Funny and jovial, this film will keep you and your gang entertained this weekend!
