The winners of the prestigious National Film Awards were declared a few days ago and we are all familiar with the winners. It is based on the theme of depression and taking a look back at a few unfortunate recent events, films that portray the real picture of this mood disorder and how to deal with it are the need of the hour. Shot in the picturesque Konkan area, the films revolves around a young man’s depression and how a woman named Janaki supports him and helps him overcome his depression.
According to the citation by the jury, the film is “In appreciation of the perfect blending of an environmental behavior and a personal one in a poignantly beautiful cinematic way.”
Apart from being screened at the Jio MAMI Film Festival, 2016 the film has not been a part of many other film festivals and with the National Award in its kitty, we hope to see it on the big screens soon.
