Last year, on this day, Mahesh Manjrekar released his most ambitious film – Natsamrat. It was also a special occasion as the release date coincided with film’s lead actor, Nana Patekar's birthday. Besides the veteran, the Marathi movie also starred Medha Manjrekar, Vikram Gokhale, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Sunil Barve, and Neha Pendse. All of them are established names in the Marathi film industry and hence there was a lot of buzz around Natsamrat. Once the film was out, it not only received rave reviews but also had a magical run at the box-office. If you haven't seen it yet, here are four reasons why you should do so NOW.

Nana Patekar owns the film

While all the actors put up a great show, Natsamrat simply belonged to Nana Patekar. Playing the role of a theatre actor who has been mistreated by his children, Patekar will make you feel his character's pain. The scene in which he discovers that one of his family members is dead may get you teary-eyed.

It’s the highest rated film on BookMyShow

With a heart rating of 93%, Natsamrat became the highest ranked 2016 film on BookMyShow. It defeated Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which has a 92% rating. Well, that shows how much the critics and audience loved Natsamrat.

Since Nana Patekar played the role of an artist in the film, he was given some heavy-duty dialogues. They were not in simple Marathi and even people who know the language found it did get to understand certain dialogs. So, if you are not very familiar with the Marathi language, watch the movie with subtitles.

Excellent supporting cast

Medha Manjrekar as Nana Patekar's wife, and Vikram Gokhale as his best friend managed to steal the limelight from the actor in certain scenes. Even the actors who play Patekar's kids are exceptional.
