When you are in your teens, there are a lot of things that will occupy your mind (other than studies, obviously). During that phase you will meet a lot of people, lose a lot more friends, find something or someone you love, get your heart broken, and end up experimenting with things that you might not want to do in the later half of your life. Along with that you will also have a love-hate relationship with your parents which you will not be able to ignore.

When all that is happening all at once, it’s bound to create a whole lot of confusion in your life. And we don’t blame you for that! So to get you going through these complex years of your life, we bring you a list of movies that will (maybe) give your thoughts some direction. These are not your regular sexed-up, puppy-love kind of teenage films, but the ones that you might be able to relate to, the realistic kinds.

The Breakfast Club
This is a classic film which was probably an inspiration for all the teenage movies that were released after that. Watch this film to know what happens when five high school students with different personalities are put in detention together.

Stand By Me
This film is based on Stephen King’s novella, The Body. The story of this film is about four boys who decide to go on an adventurous journey to find the dead body of a teenager from their neighborhood. This film will make you question your morals.

Little Miss Sunshine
Don’t love yourself enough? Well, this is a film for you. It will redefine the meaning of beauty and give you the confidence to face the world without being ashamed of yourself. A comedy-drama that you will not get bored of watching over and over again.

It’s already tough enough to be in high school, but how do you cope when you become “that pregnant teenager” in school? Such is the story of Juno, played by Ellen Page. In this movie, you can watch her accept the reality and take some unexpected decisions that will also show you the difference between the maturity levels of youngsters and adults.

Into the Wild
Here’s a film that’s based on the real life story of Christopher McCandless, who later calls himself, Alexander Supertramp. In this film, you can watch Emile Hirsch play the role of Christopher, a bright student, who gives up on selfish and worldly possessions to go on the ultimate adventure of his life.

This is a one-of-a-kind movie that was filmed over 12 years without changing its cast. It has been shot from the point of view of Mason, played by Ellar Coltrane, which shows the gradual transformation that happens during the growing years of a child. This film also stars Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette
