Disney is now on the swing and is churning out live action movies of their classic animated films. And why not?! After the success of films such as The Jungle BookCinderella, and Maleficent, Disney is prepping up for the release of the film Beauty and the Beast in 2017. They have recently announced that they will also be working on Mulan, which is fast-tracked to hit the screens by November 2, 2018.

Mulan is one of the tough yet graceful Asian characters that Disney has created to show us the fierce side of women. When the animated film was released back in 1998, it gained a lot of popularity all around the world. The animated film was based on an ancient Chinese legend. According to that legend, Hua Mulan was the daughter of an aged warrior, who disguises herself as a man to join the army and fight the war. By turning this classic into a live action film, Disney plans to retell the tale with some modifications without losing out on the main essence of the film.
Now, the real question is, who are they going to cast as Mulan? So far, they have confirmed that they will be globally auditioning Chinese actresses who could potentially fill Mulan’s shoes. To make this interesting, we have picked 5 actresses who we feel can do justice to the role.
