Move over, Andrew Garfield! There’s a new web slinger in town, and he’s a young one! Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios recently revealed the director and the male lead for their upcoming Spiderman film – Jon Watts and Tom Holland. Watts, who recently made headlines with his film Cop Car, at the Sundance Film Festival, will helm the comic film which has become a global phenomenon.
Meanwhile, everyone is going gaga over the 19 year old who will play the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman! The English actor-dancer, who amazed critics and audiences with his performance in films like The Impossible and The Heart of the Sea, landed the coveted role played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Apart from the standalone Spiderman film, Tom will essay the role of the web slinger in the much awaited Marvel film, Captain America: Civil War, in a supporting capacity. Sony Pictures will finance and release the next installment of the $4 billion Spiderman franchise on July 28, 2017. We’re looking forward to this one for sure!
