Review: Now You See Me has got nothing up it’s sleeve. The film is like an unsuccessful magic trick.

The film is about four ambitious and gifted magicians who play modern-day Robin Hood. They are J.Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney(Woody Harrelson), Henley Reeves(Isla Fisher), Jack Wilder (Dave Franco). All actors are charming in themselves. However Eisenberg spills arrogance on the screen as he shows off his amazing skill at memorizing long monologues. Similarly most other characters are dishing out dialogue after dialogue at the audience which makes the film boring to watch. But Morgan Freeman as Thaddeus Bradley is as usual a pleasure to watch on screen but doesn’t have much to offer in the film. Yet another disappointment coming from director Louis Leterrier after The Clash Of The Titans. What’s similar in the both the films is the lack of depth in the plot and the lack of soul in the story.

The first half of the film is mysterious and mysterious in a bad way; because you can’t seem to understand the purpose of action. The second half does get interesting, but that is only because the audience is too intrigued to know what exactly is happening in the film. At certain points the film does grip you, because who doesn’t love a good magic trick? At certain levels the film seems too good to be true. The end of the film makes it even worse. There’s always something that you take back after watching a film, after watching Now You See Me all the audience can take back is disappointment. The film takes cue from the famous saying, "If you can’t convince them, confuse them."
