Five Movies Taking Place in One Room

The setting of a movie can be equally important as a plot. Often we don't notice the backdrop of the scenes, focusing only on the actors. There are times when the location a movie is set becomes an important part of the movie, especially when it's either too vast like the landscapes of Pandora in Avatar; or too small, like the movies we talk about here. While some movies spend lavishly on set locations, other humble films are shot in limited locations, even a single room. Mostly taking place in a single room, these movies range from intriguing thrillers to bizarre experiences.

Exam (2009)
One Room Movies - BookMyShow

This British thriller is based on an absurd premise having an exam for a position like no other. The exam has only four rules: don't talk to the examiner, don't talk to the guard, don't spoil the paper and don't leave the room. When the candidates turn over the question paper, it's blank. There's violence, suspense, and drama – all taking place in one room.

12 Angry Men (1957)

The oldest movie on the list, this one is worth watching for the various turns of decision the jury takes while deciding the fate of a boy who allegedly stabbed his father. If found guilty, the boy would be awarded a death sentence. All the jurors have to agree on the verdict, which isn't as simple as it first appears.

The Man From Earth (2007)

In a living room full of intellectuals, a man claims to have been secretly surviving for the past 14,000 years. Discussions follow about the validity of his claim by the people present, who are experts in different fields. An intriguing sci-fi movie, this one makes use of all your brain cells.

Carnage (2011)

Two couples, Longstreets and Cowans, get together to discuss the fight between their sons, but the talk lasts much longer than they expected. Cowans even try to leave, but keep getting dragged back into the conversation.  Starring actors like Jodie FosterKate WinsletChristoph Waltz and John C. Reilly, Carnage will be an emotional rollercoaster for you as well as the characters in the movie.

1408 (2007)
One Room Movies - BookMyShow

An adaptation of a Stephen King book of the same name, 1408 is a psychological horror film that isn't filled with the same old cliches that movies based on haunted places ride on typically. A writer skeptical of the supernatural gets trapped in a haunted hotel room where he experiences bizarre events. John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson are two more reasons to watch this film.
