Verdict: You can’t miss a single stunning and action-packed moment of this movie.
You know you are in for an adrenaline-pumping treat when you see the words Ahmed Khan and Tiger Shroff together. They delivered visually-appealing scenes with blood-thumping action sequences in Baaghi 2 and left us wanting for more. The Baaghi series has been known for groundbreaking action sequences that are of international standards. The series is also known for being unique in using different settings, which gives room to a lot of innovation. We have seen Tiger Shroff battle a building full of bad guys and a forest full of them. This time Baaghi 3 is going international where you get to see Tiger Shroff against helicopters, tanks, and a country full of bad guys.
What’s Baaghi 3 About:
A story of two brothers Ronnie (Tiger Shroff) and Vikram (Riteish Deshmukh), Baaghi 3, is at its core the bond between them. Ronnie, who has always been protective of his brother, promises his dying father Inspector Chaturvedi (Jackie Shroff) that he would always take care of his brother Vikram. When the boys grow up, Ronnie continues to fulfill this promise. He encourages Vikram to join the police force and even finds a bride for him in the form of Ruchi (Ankita Lokhande). Ronnie ensures that no harm befalls Vikram in the line of duty by shadowing his brother and taking care of all the bad guys. Vikram becomes very popular among his peers. Because of this, he is sent to Syria to extradite IPL (Jaideep Ahlawat) – a goon who is helping Abdul Jalal Gaza (Jameel Khoury) of the Jaish-e-Lashkar fame. Vikram gets taken by the group with Ronnie witnessing his abduction and vows to get his brother back safely, and nothing can stop him.
Based on the Telugu movie Vettai, Ahmed Khan has taken a lot of liberties when it comes to the action sequences. What Rohit Shetty is to cars in his films, Ahmed Khan, is to every obstacle that comes in his hero’s way. A man standing against all things evil is not a new concept and Baaghi 3 acknowledges that.
What makes this movie stand apart is Tiger Shroff. Ahmed Khan plays to Tiger’s strength by giving him the masala physics-defying punches and, at the same time, moves that very few could pull off in Bollywood. It is a delight to watch Riteish Deshmukh on screen and brings some much-required comedy to the movie. No good movie is complete about villains we love to hate. Jameel Khoury as Abdul Jalal Gaza and Jaideep Ahlawat as IPL are just that. They fill your heart with dread as they carry on their nefarious schemes.
The dialogues will remind you of the ’90s with some one-liners that will definitely make you chuckle. The movie also goes meta by referencing other cop movies and even Tiger’s past films. We get to see Jackie Shroff flexing his muscles. Who doesn’t want to witness that?
What Could’ve Been Better:
Every action movie is criticized for not giving enough time for character building and the plot. This movie does the opposite. There is a little too much time given to the plot, which could have been edited out without hampering the experience.
