Veerey Ki Wedding: Film Review – Badhai Ho!

Verdict: This shaadi is a must-attend for Bollywood lovers.

There have been countless Bollywood films that have been set against the backdrop of a wedding and Veerey Ki Wedding is the latest addition to the long list. Starring Pulkit Samrat, who plays the quintessential Hindi movie hero, the movie has some naachgaana and loads of maarnapeetna. So is it worth a watch? Find out below.

What’s Veerey Ki Wedding About:

Veer (Pulkit Samrat) and Geet (Kriti Kharbanda) are madly in love with each other and plan to tie the knot soon. While his parents approve of her, Geet’s father (Satish Kaushik) hates Veer for constantly getting himself involved in a lot of fights. While that should be a cause for concern, Veer is a good samaritan. He only beats up the 'bad' guys and fights eve-teasers. His cousin Balli (Jimmy Shergill) is no different and often helps the police solve cases. The rest of the film shows how the couple deals with the many obstacles that come their way.

What Works:

Veerey Ki Wedding is a light-hearted film that shouldn't be taken seriously. The jokes are aplenty and you will find yourself laughing at the silliest things. Pulkit Samrat and Jimmy Shergill share a great bond and are the stars of the film. Kriti Kharbanda shows promise and hopefully signs some big films soon. A special mention to Satish Kaushik, who is lovely as a worrisome father.

What Could Have Been Better:

Some parts of Veerey Ki Wedding feel like they are set in the 90s. The dialogues seem a little clichéd.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:

Don’t think too much and book your tickets for Veerey Ki Wedding. The film guarantees an entertaining two hours with typical Bollywood-style humor. Pulkit Samrat, too, shows why he’s got what it takes to become a big name in the industry.
