Oru Adaar Love is a romantic comedy directed by Omar Lulu and produced by Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy under his banner Ousepachan Movie House. This Priya Prakash Varrier, Roshan Abdul Rahoof, and Noorin Shereef starrer has screenplay written by Sarang Jayaprakash and Lijo Panadan, music by Shaan Rahman, cinematography by Sinu Sidharth and has been edited by Achu Vijayan. The story is about a few school students, their school life, crushes, friendship, love, and fun.

What’s Oru Adaar Love About:

Roshan (Roshan Abdul Rahoof) a plus one student instantly falls in love with his classmate Priya (Priya P Warrier) during the fresher’s day. His friend Gadha (Noorin Sherif) plays cupid along with his other friends and eventually, Priya acknowledges his love and reciprocates as well. However, Priya is not too happy about Roshan’s bond with Gadha. During a boys night, Roshan’s friend accidentally sends porn videos from Roshan’s number on the school WhatsApp group, which not only gets him suspended from school, but also leads to the couple’s break up. To bring Roshan and Priya closer again, his friends suggest an idea – to pretend that he is in love with Gadha, thereby making Priya jealous. This leads to a few twists in the plot and the rest is a fun ride.

What Works:

Noorin is so charming! She is cute, bubbly and portrays the tom-boyish Gadha without any hiccups. Priya is cute too and plays her role to perfection. However, Roshan is definitely the show stealer. He is realistic reminding you of the smart, trendy boys from our school time. The other boys playing Roshan’s friends are good in their roles too. The performances make you feel you are part of a classroom. Shaan’s music, especially the background score, complements the movie quite well. The movie is hilarious, breezy and fun.

What Could’ve Been Better:

Portraying school students drinking may not be acceptable to many. There are a couple of sexist and racist jokes; however, these jokes do evoke a lot of laughs.

Oru Adaar Love is for the youth who celebrate love and life. It is the perfect millennial love story and quite relatable as well. It reminds you of your school and college days and takes you on a nostalgic trip. It makes for a good one-time watch over the most romantic weekend of the year.
