Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani: Film Review – A fun comedy filled with melodrama.

What would you get if you took a hilarious film from the ‘90s and cast Bharath in it? That would be director L.V.Ravichandar‘s Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani. One reason the film seems like a tribute to the ‘90s, is because it is smothered with melodrama. Bharath is an innocent and uneducated youth, who lives his life as a Siddha practitioner. A flourishing career, a good family – Bharath is a happy man. But his ego is hurt when his group of conniving friends resort to trickery and hurt his trust. He then decides to marry an educated girl (Nanditha), who will help him ease the difficulties he faces. His life then takes a fun and chaotic ride after he finds his lady love.

The film has a solid backbone for a comedy, but the major letdown in the film is that it establishes itself as a mega-serial. This is a kind of film that teaches you morals, values and tries to get you to sympathize with its hero. Like the lead character, Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani is a naïve comedy. It is guaranteed to give you some good laughs, and have a good time. But your faith in a movie fails when the depiction of the eunuch community isn’t right. You also tend to dismiss the film, when the hero sings a duet with the heroine within seconds after laying his eyes on her. Let’s not forget the loud songs that spring up at unexpected situations, the hideous performances from a few character artists and the unintentionally funny Physics-defying fight sequences. The most-bewildering part of the film is when the filmmaker tries to equate education to common sense. As the popular saying goes, ‘’common sense is not so common’’, it looks like our hero was taken on board to project the same.
Why should you watch this film?
Watch this film as this is sure to provide some genuine laughs. And the novel bottom-line the film tries to convey which is – education.
