Kalakalappu (2012) left us on the floor laughing and Sundar C. is back to do the same with Kalakalappu 2 and we are so excited for you to watch it! The film picks up the same basic storyline and premise of its prequel but with different faces and a new scam at stake- a great big mansion called the Muruga Mansion.

What is Kalakalappu-2 About:

Seenu's (played by Jiiva) family runs a hotel called the Muruga Mansion which was leased to them, the term of which is ending soon. Now they must vacate the property but cannot bring themselves to do that as his sister Janaki is getting married to Gopal (Satish) and they would like to retain the mansion until the function is over. Gopal's sister Hema (Catherine Tresa) is a bubbly, fun-loving and a charming girl and Seenu falls in love with her and manages to sweep her off her feet. The land owner's son Raghu (Jai) returns from Chennai to acquire this land, during the course of which he falls in love with Aishwarya (Nikki Galrani) and in due time realizes that the hotel he's been staying at is his property. Enter Ganesh (Shiva) who happens to scam both the men, who are now on a mission to get their money back. Dharamaraj (Madhusudhan Rao), a corrupt politician gets involved in this confusion and now must find a way out. Watch this film to know how they all get tangled in this scam of atrocious proportions!

What works:

The film is ridiculously hilarious and tickles your funny bones throughout. The various storylines are untangled carefully and in a hilarious way. The best part of this funny confusion is that the writer Sundar C. does not confuse the audience in the process, which is commendable. The music and dances are extravagant and super fun. You can definitely count on Hip Hop Tamizha to get you in the groove and make you dance! Both Jiiva and Jai deliver a great comic performance alongside their partners Catherine Tresa and Nikki Galrani and make great pairs!

What could have been better?

The film seems a bit too long but the comic nature makes up for it in most instances but gets rather exhausting. A few of the fight sequences, albeit funny, seemed illogical.

Why You Should Watch Kalakalappu 2:

This film will add a lot of ROFL level laughter to your weekend. If you want to go have a great time with your family and friends this weekend and laugh till you drop, we recommend you this extravagant and super hilarious film. So get your laughing pants on and go watch this film this weekend!
