After appearing in serious action movies, Vikram Prabhu showcases his flamboyance in this full-fledged comedy movie.

Pakka Film Review - BookMyShow

What’s Pakka About:

The movie is almost entirely shot against the backdrop of a village called Thiruvizha, which means 'fair', and has an upbeat folksy rhythm to it. Vikram Prabhu plays two characters in this film. His first character is a toy vendor in the local village fair, where he saves the beautiful Nitya (Bindhu Madhavi) from a direct collision with a giant toy helicopter. Obviously, this sparks her interest in him. In his second role, Vikram plays Dhoni Kumar – a hardcore Mahendra Singh Dhoni fan – alongside Rajini Radha (Nikki Galrani), who is an ardent follower of Rajinikanth. The two squabble over who is a better role model. This mutual competitive spirit, obviously, makes them fall in love with each other. The director effortlessly combines the two halves to make one complete engaging story.

What Works:

Vikram Prabhu enthralls with his charm and confidence as an actor, while Nikki Galrani’s performance is one of the highlights of the film. Her enactment of superstar Rajinikanth is spot on! Soori’s consistent inclusion of jokes keeps the audience smiling and on occasion, even laugh out loud. The two halves of the storyline are seamlessly put together, which make it engaging and interesting at the same time.

What Could've Been Better:

The second half of the movie seems to lack the liveliness of the former. The duration of the movie is well over what the viewers expect. The movie could have been made shorter, with a little more attention to the smaller details.

Why You Should Watch:

Pakka is a one-time watch to get your fill of laughter this weekend. Soori, with his spontaneous inclusion of jokes and one-liners, keeps you giggling in your seats. Apart from the constant laughter, this movie also features a breezy, heartwarming love story, packed with suspense and action. So take your entire family and watch the film this weekend.
