Verdict: Made for each other!

It has been over two years since Akhil Akkineni made his debut in a full-length leading hero through his movie Akhil – The Power of Jua. With his debut movie failing to impress the audience, Akhil is now back with the movie Hello!, directed by the Manam fame Vikram K Kumar and produced by his father Akkineni Nagarjuna under Annapurna Productions and Manam Enterprises. Hello! also marks the debut of Kalyani Priyadarshan, daughter of director Priyadarshan and actress Ligi. Hello! also has Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishna and Ajay in prominent roles apart from the rest of the cast. The music and the background score of Hello! are rendered by Anup Rubens while cinematography has been handled by P. S. Vinod. The editing department has been taken care of by Prawin Pudi. Does Hello! give Akhil the much-deserved success? Let’s see.

What’s Hello About:

Young Srinu is an orphan who has a penchant for music. Junnu aka Priya (Kalyani Priyadarshan) is a rich kid who meets Srinu at a park and they both instantly connect. However, their union doesn’t last long as Junnu’s parents move away. While departing, she leaves her number on a 100 rupee note and throws it from the car’s window. Just when Srinu is about to get hold of the note, it is stolen by a street kid. While Srinu chases him to get the note, he meets with an accident by a car driven by Saru (Ramya Krishna). Saru and Prakash (Jagapathi Babu) are a rich couple with no kids. They decide to adopt Srinu and give him a new name Avinash (Akhil). Avinash goes to the same place daily where he met Junnu at his childhood. How Junnu and Srinu re-unite forms the rest of the story.

Hello film review - BookMyShow

What Works:

Akhil Akkineni is at his ultimate best when it comes to dances and fights. He is an absolute charmer and has a scorching screen presence. Kalyani Priyadarshan is also a delight to watch in Hello!. She fits the role to the tee and is one to watch out for. The cinematography is extremely fascinating and all the frames looked rich and endearing. The music and background score were mesmerizing and all the songs looked great. The editing is crisp and the screenplay is in a non-linear format that worked well for the movie. Ramya Krishna and Jagapathi Babu enacted their roles well. The lead characters in childhood are fantastic.

What Could Have Been Better:

Though all the crafts of the technical department were done extremely well, a few things seemed a little filmy.

Why You Should Watch:

Watch this movie for the absolute bundle of talent and a charmer in Tollywood, who is no less than any handsome Bollywood star, Akhil Akkineni. This guy has a long way to go. Overall, the movie is a neat and clean entertainer which has its moments and can be watched with families.
