Verdict: Love story with a pinch of comedy and entertainment.

Mister starring Varun Tej, Lavanya Tripathi and Hebah Patel in lead roles, is directed by Srinu Vaitla. This is the first time that Srinu Vaitla is directing Varun Tej. Mister is a very important film for both of them, as it comes after Srinu Vaitla’s back to back duds in the form of Aagadu and Bruce Lee and Varun Tej’s below average Loafer. Touted to be a romantic entertainer with Srinu Vaitla’s trademark comedy, let’s see if they were able to emerge victorious with Mister.

Pichchaiah Naidu aka Chai (Varun Tej) falls in love at first sight with Meera (Hebah Patel) and impresses her with his behavior. Meera is already in love with Siddharth (Prince) and conveys the same to Chai before he tries to propose her. Meera’s brother (Harish Uthaman) opposes her love and she takes help of Chai. In the mean while, Chai meets Chandramukhi (Lavanya Tripati) who is on a run to escape an arranged marriage with Rahul Vadiar (Nikitin Dheer). Chandramukhi starts liking Chai and in the course of events, Meera also falls for Chai. What happens between them and who will sacrifice for whom forms the rest of the story.

Mister - BookMyShow

Varun Tej is charming and gorgeous as a lover boy. With Mister, it is clear that he has improved immensely with his dance moves. There is also a great improvement in his dialogue diction and comedy timing. Hebah Patel is beautiful in the role of a girl entangled between her love interest and family. Lavanya Tripati enters the scene only before interval but dominates the proceedings in the later half. Nassar, as Chai’s grandfather, is at his best and will be seen at the beginning and the end of the movie. Prudhviraj is completely hilarious in the role of a film director and the incident where he throws his liquor bottle on the road forms the turning point of Mister. Nikitin Dheer and Harish Uthaman were at their best in the role of antagonists. Sathyam Rajesh and Srinivas Reddy were able to bring some laughs with their comedy. Priya Darshi is seen in a small role as a doctor who had to change his appearance as a police and is good. Just like Srinu Vaitlas’s prior movies, there are several characters in this movie and the rest of the cast is adequate.

With Mister, Srinu Vaitla made sure that he doesn’t miss with what he is best at, comedy. The only difference is that he chose a love triangle this time. Written by Gopi Mohan, there is nothing new in the script. Photography by K.V. Guhan is excellent and the locations are awesome. Music by Mickey J. Meyer is decent and the background score could have been better.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:

If you have missed Srinu Vaitla’s touch of comedy and story-telling for a while, this one is for you.
