Tholi Prema: Film Review – A Beautiful Love-Hate-Love Story

Verdict: Varun Tej repeats the magic of Fidaa!

Fresh from the super success of Fidaa, Mega Prince Varun Tej comes back yet again with a love story, “Tholi Prema”. The title of the movie instantly reminded the fans of the original “Tholi Prema” emerged as one of the biggest hits in those times, changing the image of Power Star Pawan Kalyan. Raashi Khanna is paired with Varun Tej for the first time. The film has been directed by the debutante Venky Atluri. Among the rest of the cast, we have Sapna Pabbi, Priyadarshi, Suhasini, Vidyullekha Raman and Hyper Aadhi in prominent roles. The music and the background score have been composed by S. S. Thaman. The cinematography has been done by George C. Williams. Produced by B.V.S.N. Prasad under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra, Tholi Prema has already released in USA and is releasing in India today, a day later to avert the clash with another mega hero’s movie Inttelligent. Let’s see what Venky Atluri had to offer the audience with his first directorial movie.

What’s Tholi Prema About:

Aditya (Varun Tej) happens to see Varsha (Raashi Khanna) in a train journey and falls in love with her. They separate and again happen to meet at a college in Hyderabad. They pursue engineering in a same college. One unintentional incident yields to a break-up between this lovely pair. After six long years, destiny decides to make them meet again at a workplace in London. They both work for a construction company and their love story starts to resurface again. How they become one again forms the rest of Tholi Prema.

What Works:

The chemistry between Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna worked wonders for the movie. Varun Tej is at his best and his character works perfectly. He also has tried some dance moves this time and is successful. This is a dream role for Raashi Khanna. The way her character was sketched brought life to Tholi Prema. This is undoubtedly her career best performance and will be remembered for a long time to come. The movie is mainly targeted towards the youth and they will love every scene between the lead pair. The music, the background score and cinematography play a vital role in building up the essence of this love story.

What Could Have Been Better:

The conflict point could have been more convincing and when you compare both the halves, the second half could have been handled better. Having said that, Tholi Prema is still a movie that will be loved by youth and families alike.
