Ungarala Rambabu is the third movie for Kranthi Madhav after Onamalu and Malli Malli Idhi Raani Roju. And he is directing Sunil for the first time. Mia George is making her Telugu debut with this movie. Let’s see what Ungarala Babu’s team has in store for the audience.
Rambabu (Sunil) is born with a silver spoon in his mouth and is brought up by his grandfather, Ramanujam (Vijaya Kumar) as he loses his parents at a very young age. When Rambabu grows up, he loses his grandfather as well. He comes to know that his grandfather has left several loans unpaid without letting him know. So Rambabu sells all his property in order to clear the loans. He meets Badam Baba (Posani Krishna Murali) who cheats people with his cheap tricks. Badam Baba tells Sunil that he will need to plant a tree at a far away location and that will help him become rich. To his surprise, Sunil finds gold worth Rs. 200 crores and regains all his wealth. He becomes a devotee of Badam Baba. Badam Baba starts fooling Rambabu and charges his fees in lakhs. Rambabu again starts suffering losses in business and Badam baba advises him to marry a girl with a particular zodiac sign. The girl turns out to be Savithri (Mia George) who joins Sunil’s company as a manager. They both start liking each other and Savithri tells Rambabu to convince her father Ranga Nair (Prakash Raj) who is a farmer and lives in Cochin. Will Rambabu be able to convince Ranga Nair and marry Savithri? Are there any more twists in this tale?
Sunil has completely dominated the proceedings with his comic act and wonderful emotions. As usual, he has excelled in his dance performances. Mia George is pretty as Rambabu’s love interest. She had a full-length role in her debut movie in Telugu. Prakash Raj excelled in his acting where he believes in communist principles. Venella Kishore has portrayed the role of Sudhakar who impresses Prakash Raj in order to marry Savithri. Posani is hilarious as Badam Baba. The rest of the cast was apt in the roles they portrayed.
Kranthi Madhav was successful in making a comedy movie with decent emotions for the first time in his career. The music and the background score were good. The cinematography is excellent and all the frames looked great. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is decent. The production value by United Movies is grand.
