Verdict: Expect the unexpected from Vijay Sai Deverakonda!

There is a certain madness in trade and general public when a Vijay Deverakonda movie hits the theatres. Stepping in the shoes of being a World Famous Lover, the expectations are high and the theatrical trailers have only upped the spice. With four heroines romancing this World Famous Lover, let’s see what is in store for viewers.

What’s World Famous Lover About:

Gautham (Vijay Deverakonda) and Yamini (Raashi Khanna) are a couple in a live-in relationship. Disputes arise between them as Gautham leaves his cushy job to pursue his passion as a writer. From his writing arise other stories – a) sweet love story of a couple, Seenaya (Vijay Deverakinda) and Suvarna (Aishwarya Rajesh) and b) a cute love story of Izabelle (Izabelle) and Gautham (Vijay Deverakonda), set in France. What happens to their estranged relationship and how they unite forms the crux of World-Famous Lover.

What Works:

The best part of this movie is the raw and emotional thread between Seenaya and Suvarna, set in the coal mines of Telengana, Yellandu. Though this thread ends in the first half, you will come out of the theatre thinking about these characters. Vijay as Gautham has several shades of Arjun Reddy, however the comparison ends there. Vijay is authentic and appealing in all the roles he has portrayed and has pulled off a superb act in the form of World Famous Lover. Among the lady gang, it is Raashi Khanna who has a real character as the rest all are fictitious. The film extracts the best of Aishwarya Rajesh in what’s easily is one of her rewarding and intense characters. As we know, Kranthi Madhav is a master in storytelling, especially in the romance genre, World Famous Lover is one more feather in his cap. The writing is brilliant and the concept is honest. With the protagonist being a writer, one could connect his character with the director himself. Jaya Krishna Gummadi’s visuals are path breaking, especially the episodes involving Vijay and Izabelle in France. Gopi Sundar’s album is decent. The production values from Creative Commercials banner are top notch.

What Could’ve Been Better:

While the intent is honest, the narrative, editing, music and background score could have been better. At times, you get a documentary feel in the second half.

Why You Should Watch:

The World Famous Lover should be watched for its good writing, honest intent and a sweet and cute love thread between Suvarna and Seenaya. You will enjoy Gautham’s character if you have a hangover of Arjun Reddy. Overall, it is a decent one-time watch.
