February is the month when most of the Oscar-nominated films hit theatres in India. There's a lot of buzz around these movies, so it is the ideal time to release them and we cannot be happier. But that doesn't mean Indian cinema did not have a good month. Many of the Hindi and other regional films had a great run at the box-office and pleased our users too. Check out the hits and misses of February 2018.

Phantom Thread

Daniel Day-Lewis’ last film was this Paul Thomas Anderson drama set in the 1950s. There was hype around it because Lewis has quit acting and fans wouldn't get to see him on the big screen again.

Pad Man

Initially supposed to release on Republic Day, Padman finally hit theaters on February 9. This social drama starring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, and Sonam Kapoor won the hearts of the critics and the audience.

Our users absolutely loved this Telugu rom-com starring Naga Shaurya and Rashmika Mandanna. Chalo still has a decent number of shows in cinemas.

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

Luv Ranjan struck gold for the third time with Sony Ke Titu Ki Sweety. He repeated the cast of the Pyaar Ka Punchnama series and once again came up with an insanely funny film.

Manju Warrier played the role of the renowned poet and author, Kamala Das, in this Malayalam film. She won rave reviews for the performance in Aami which also stars Tovino Thomas, Anoop Menon, and Murali Gopy.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

One of the favorites during the awards season, this film released around 10 days before the Oscars. There was a lot of buzz around it and people haven't stopped raving about Frances McDormand’s portrayal of a mother who takes on the police force. The actress just won the Academy Award for Best Actress this week.

Aapla Manus

This Nana Patekar movie was in the news from the time of its announcement. Aapla Manus is the first Marathi film produced by Ajay Devgn. No wonder people were eagerly awaiting its release.

Black Panther

Marvel’s first African superhero has taken the box-office by storm. While Black Panther is raking in the cash, it is also being rated highly by everyone who has watched it.

Other Regional Hits

Aamhi Doghi, Raakshas, Kalyanam, Sughamano Daveede, GujjuBhai – Most Wanted, Laavaan Phere, and Tagaru.

While there were some super successful films in February, here are the ones which failed to impress our viewers by a small margin – Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, Aiyaary, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, Veera, Touch Chesi Chudu, Rosapoo, Nagesh Thiraiyarangam, and Welcome To New York.
