The biggest festival of the year has passed us and while all the movie fanatics have been waiting for the Diwali release, there are many more movie releases which managed to impress us in the previous month. And now while we look forward to the releases in November it is time to take a look back at what worked and what didn't in the month of October. Movies like Tu Hai Mera Sunday was a surprise and the Diwali releases obviously managed to live up to the expectations. Meanwhile, all the Hollywood movies released have impressed the audience. Without wasting more time, here are the hits and misses of October.

Saif Ali Khan's Chef managed to impress everyone as much as the original with the beautiful scenery of Kerela playing an important part in the success of the movie. A  movie about a relationship between a father and a son always manages to tug the heartstrings of the audience.

Tu Hai Mera Sunday
This one was a surprise and showed us that a simple story can go a long way in pleasing the audience and that sometimes you don't really need a big budget to make sure a film works. You will never look at Sundays the same way after watching this movie.

Secret Superstar
Aamir Khan does it again but this time it is Zaira Wasim who deserves a lot of credit for her fantastic performance in the movie. The movie is about a school girl who is immensely talented and how though the medium of social network gains popularity.

Golmaal Again
Rohit Shetty and team is back with yet another hilarious addition to the Golmaal franchise. For those who have enjoyed watching his other movies, this movie is the perfect mix of all his previous movies with some magic added to the mix.

Blade Runner 2049
A  visual masterpiece this sequel to the Blade Runner has Harrison Ford reprising his role and Ryan Gosling as an addition to the cast. The movie is known for its beautiful cinematography while dealing with a subject as complex as the AI consciousness.

The Lego Ninjago Movie
In efforts to bring back an almost forgotten toy line, this movie is an awesome addition to the franchise, with Jackie Chan as Master.

Victoria and Abdul
The movie was delayed for over a month but when it finally released it felt like it was worth the wait. This is a story of a friendship between an Indian servant named Abdul and Queen Victoria. Incidentally, this is the second movie with Queen Victoria in the recent months but this one was the better one.

Geostorm might not create a storm worldwide but was much loved by the audience here. Gerard Butler stars in this disaster-related movie but this time he is well away from the action (he is actually in space while everything is happening).
