Movies to Watch in September 2017

It is time we bid goodbye to another month in 2017 and looking at the events of the past week we can only say good riddance. August hasn't been a great month for movies. Some movies failed to live up to the hype while a few did please the audience, albeit mildly. It is certainly no competition to July in any way. But September is looming on the horizon and we are looking at it with some great expectations. If you are wondering what's all that special about next month, you just need to read on. There is so much coming up next month, you might want to save your weekends for the movies.

Baadshaho (1st September)

Set in the time of the emergency in India, this heist movie might be the answer to your need for action movies.  With a star cast like Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, and Vidyut Jammwal, they cannot really go wrong.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (1st September)

Ayushmann Khurrana is all for doing shocking movies in the most subtle way possible. In this movie, he will be creating awareness regarding erectile dysfunction and we cannot wait to see how that turns out.

Daddy (8th September)

Right from the first look, we knew Arjun Rampal as Arun Gawli is going to impress and the trailer confirms this. We cannot wait to see this biopic as soon as it hits the theatres.

Simran (15th September)
Kangana probably does her best work alone and in Simran, she has shown (again) that you really don't need a famous actor or a huge star cast in an entertaining movie. Like Queen, this also seems another light-hearted movie.

Lucknow Central (15th September)

Farhan Akhtar is back with another rock band after almost nine years of Rock On. The only difference is that this band performs behind the bars than on stage.

Bhoomi (22nd September)

Sanjay Dutt's comeback film packs a punch. Not only is he looking his best but the trailer has also dropped enough hints to let us know that he is going to be doing what he does the best – punching the bad guys a lot.

Haseena Parkar (22nd September)

Another gangster is getting a biopic and this time it is about Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parker. Shraddha Kapoor has gone through an admirable transformation to be ready for this movie and we cannot wait to see how it turns out.

Judwaa 2 (29th September)

Can Varun Dhawan create the same magic as Salman Khan in the original? We seem to think so because the trailer looks fantastic and we cannot wait to see more.

IT (8th September)

Last week, we saw The Dark Tower which is adapted from the Stephen King series. Next week we will see the return of the scariest clown ever, Pennywise. After watching the trailer, we cannot wait for it to give us paranoid, sleepless nights.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle (22nd September)

This isn't one of your typical spy movies. There are your usual special gadgets and saving the world thing going on but there is a lot more gore and catching the villain is no easy task. Basically, an adult-friendly spy movie.

Victoria and Abdul (22nd September)

The Black Prince spoke of the friendship between Queen Victoria and the last King of Punjab. But a life as rich as hers, she has had more friends and this is another tale about one such friendship.

The Lego Ninjago Movie (22nd September)

The Lego movies have proved that it isn't in their manual to disappoint us. Each time they do something different and thoroughly blow us away. They are reviving an old toy line with this movie and we cannot wait to watch it.

American Made (29th September)

Tom Cruise as a TWA agent who, due to extreme circumstances, becomes in charge of a CIA covert operation. The best part, this is based on a true story and has been executed charmingly by Tom Cruise.

Velaikkaran (Tamil) (15th September)

Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara star in this Tamil drama about a man who takes it upon himself to battle food-related corruption.

Paisa Vasool (Telugu) (1st September)

Nandamuri Balakrishna along with Shriya Saran come with an action-packed family entertainer making sure you say Paisa Vasool when the film ends.

Spyder (Telugu, Tamil) (27th September)

Mahesh Babu is back with a thriller all set to hit the theatres in September. The poster looks impressive enough to get us excited to watch it.
