Ever since the superstar’s next project was announced, a high amount of curiosity began to buzz. There was something different about this movie. It promised to treat the audience with the animated avatar of Rajini. Yes, a fully animated Rajinikanth. The 3D-animated flick took two years in the making, with a unique concept of motion capture technology made from a budget of 125 crores. The trailer for the much-awaited film, Kochadaiiyaan was unveiled at its audio launch yesterday.
What to Expect from the film:
Rajini in a Triple Role
The film features Rajinikath in three different avatars – Rana, Kochadaiiyaan and Sena. The trailer predominantly showcases battles, rivalry and the quintessential Demi-God avatar of the superstar depicting his original mannerisms. The trailer opens with a distinct and strong narrative describing the lead Rajinikanth. With an athletic and chiseled body, he is seen to be fiercely performing on Rudra Thandavam – a divine dance form performed by Lord Shiva to depict his high energy and violent nature. In the later part of the trailer, Rajini, dressed in a metallic armored suit, is seen fighting a big army, flashing some mighty action moves.
The trailer also features the sultry Deepika Padukone, and the youthful danseuse Shobana, romancing the protagonist. The trailer is also packed with some sharp dialogues, the best one being – "Vaipugal Amayadhu, Namdhan amaithukolla vendum" (Opportunities don’t just happen; One has to make them happen). The visuals are grand and stunning, owing credits to the CG team. Be it the huge battlefield or the magnificent palaces, they have done a commendable job.
It’s Trending Already
The magnificent trailer went viral in less than 24 hours, garnering more than 6 lakh hits on YouTube. There is speculation of the film being screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year and later be dubbed into International languages like Japanese, French and German.
A Seasoned Cast
The film is directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin. The film features veterans like Nassar, Jackie Shroff and Sarath Kumar. The notable thing about the cast of the film is that the late actor, Nagesh has been resurrected to play a pivotal lead. The story, screenplay and dialogues are by ace director K.S.Ravikumar. Oscar winners A.R.Rahman and Resul Pookutty have composed music and worked on sound designing respectively. This is the first time in Indian Cinema’s history that a film will release in 6 different languages in thecountry alone, including Punjabi, Bhojpuri and Marathi. Produced Eros Entertainment and Media One, the film is all set for release on April 11 on the eve of Tamil New Year’s Day.
