Throwback Thursday: 5 Marvel One-shots You Just Cannot Miss

Apart from some entertaining movies and many interesting characters, Marvel is known to give out treats to their fans in the form of something exclusive. Right from the mid-credits and post-credit scenes to the one-shots, Marvel has never failed to surprise us.

If you are wondering what the one-shots are, here's help. One-shots are a series of exclusive content that accompanied the DVD release of Marvel movies between 2011 and 2014 and they were such a hit that series like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Agent Carter were inspired from it and we all know how well those turned out. However, as soon as Marvel started releasing more movies per annum, the one-shots disappeared. They might come back in a different form, but till that happens, take a look at these gems.

One-shot Title: The Consultant (2011)
Movie Accompanied by: Thor

If you are wondering why Tony Stark was talking to General Ross at the end of The Incredible Hulk, your questions are about to be answered. Turns out he was just a 'patsy' sent so the general would not hand over Abomination over to the Avengers initiative. Yes, we were surprised too. He was not asking about Bruce Banner but Abomination, which at that time, was under the watchful eye of the general.

One-shot Title: A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to Thor's Hammer (2011)
Movie Accompanied by: Captain America: The First Avenger

If you have never seen a non-Avenger agent of S.H.I.E.L.D in action, this shot would let you know how they react when they are not dealing with aliens. Agent Phil Coulson might not seem Avenger-worthy but he sure knows how to pack a punch.

One-shot Title: Item 47 (2012)
Movie Accompanied by: The Avengers

Post the incidents of the Avengers, not only was the world introduced to dangerous aliens but there was a lot of alien technology which found its way into the hands of wrong people. This shot shows why it is necessary to clean-up well.

One-shot Title: Agent Carter (2013)
Movie Accompanied by: Iron Man 3

This shot inspired the Agent Carter series and we can see why. She might have lost Captain America but Peggy Carter is not someone you can mess with.

One-shot Title: All Hail the King (2014)
Movie Accompanied by: Thor: The Dark World

We all remember Trevor from Iron Man 3. This story is about his time in prison and all that happens when the real Mandarin (yes, there is a real one) comes seeking revenge.

Pat your back if you have already seen all these. You are a true Marvel fan. Let us know your favorite shots in the comments below. Also, don't forget to book your tickets for Avengers: Infinity War here.
