Here we give you the five top leading ladies of the small screen who have impressed us with their acting prowess in 2016.

1. Divyanka Tripathi
As Ishita of “Yeh Hai Mohabattein”, Divyanka rules the small screen. It's been over a decade now since she made her debut on TV with a Zee TV show, “Banoo Mei Teri Dulhan” and today she is amongst the most popular actors on Indian television. From playing an ideal bahu to portraying a modern-day woman or starring in comedy shows and series, Divyanka Tripathi has managed to woo the TV audiences in every avatar of hers. Her show on Star Plus, “Yeh Hai Mohabattein” is today the flagship show of the channel.

2. Mouni Roy
Mouni Roy has literally slithered her way into the hearts of viewers with her Naagin act. She started the year playing goddess Sati in Life Ok's popular show, Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev, and ended the year on an equally successful note with Naagin, where she is playing the lead role of a shape-shifting serpent. Her show has been garnering the highest TRPs since many weeks now.

3. Sakshi Tanwar
Basking in the success of her recent Bollywood project, Dangal, Sakshi Tanwar is the queen of TV. She has been a part of several hit shows like Balaji Telefilms' Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii on Star Plus, which ran for eight years, and Bade Acche Lagte Hain on Sony Entertainment TV, in which her chemistry with Ram Kapoor was much loved by the viewers. This year she charmed the viewers with her anchoring skills in Crime Patrol on Sony and Code Red on Colors Tv. She was also seen playing a cop in Anil Kapoor's 24.

4. Jennifer Winget
Jennifer Winget shot to limelight with her character of
Dr. Riddhima in the popular show Dill Mil Gayye. And then later on she won many hearts with her Kumud in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's, Saraswati Chandra. These days she is nailing it with her debut grey characterisation as Maya Malhotra in Beyhadh.

5. Nia Sharma
Nia Sharma started her career with “Ek Hazaaron Me Meri Behna Hai” as Maanvi and shot to fame with Zee TV's show, Jamai Raja. Last year was very special for her, as she became the third sexiest Asian woman, leaving behind Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.
