Abhishek Bachchan has, over the years, carved out a decent career for himself at the movies. But the beginning of his career was anything but decent. He held the ignominy of delivering 11 flops in a row, before he had his first success in Bollywood.

And obviously, he wasn’t being particularly liked by the audience, during his initial run. But what happened to him at one of his film’s screening was beyond imaginable.

Abhishek Bachchan revealed he was slapped by a woman who was watching his film, on an episode of ‘Yeh Hai Meri Kahani’, a show on UTV Stars. It was during the screening of the film Shararat, that the said woman walked up to him and slapped him, the actor revealed.

In his own words, “One moment I’ll never forget. My film ‘Shararat’ was released and I went to Gaiety Galaxy to check the audience reactions. There was a lady who came out after watching the film in interval and she saw that I was standing near concession stand. She came and slapped me. After that, she said that ‘you’re embarrassing your family’s name, stop acting’.”

Kudos to Abhishek for taking this (rather scathing) criticism in a positive light, and actually improving his skill set as an actor!
