Producer Karan Johar has also declared that that film is a ‘romantic-fairytale in a supernatural format’. Initially titled Dragon, the film’s temporary release date is 15th August 2019.

Kesari

An upcoming Indian period war drama, Kesari stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra and is based on the Battle of Saragarhi. It details the life and times of Havildar Ishar Singh who fought hard to earn the respect of his estranged daughter. The shooting for this film begun in January this year and the movie is all scheduled to release on 22nd March 2019.

Super 30

Anand Kumar is one of the most respectable names in the field of education today. His Super 30 program is credited with making IIT dreams come true for people who cannot afford to study. Based on the life of this mathematician comes a movie, which is set to release in January 2019. The movie stars Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan and debutant Mrunal Thakur in lead roles.

Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar

Although it’s been a long five years since Ishaqzaade hit the screens, the magic of that love story still continues to give viewers goosebumps. Now, the lead couple – Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra – is all set to return in yet another Yash Raj movie about a man and a woman who embody two completely different sides of India, united by only their mistrust, suspicion, and hate for each other. Scheduled to release on 1st March 2019, this movie has managed to garner a positive buzz already.

Gully Boy

Based on the lives of real-life rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy, known for their song “Mere Gully Mein”, this Zoya Akhtar directorial stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. Although the shooting for this movie has wrapped up, it is scheduled for a Valentine’s Day release in 2019.

Kalank

This period drama film is set against the Partition and Indian Independence struggle in the 1940s. Directed by Abhishek Varman, the lavish movie stars Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. This movie was in the news recently after Madhuri came on board instead of Sridevi. All set to release on 19th April 2019, Kalank is a big-budget film that the world is looking forward to.

Mental Hai Kya

This Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao-starrer truly defines crazy as the new normal. After having collaborated on the super-hit movie Queen, this duo will be back, crazier than ever before. One look at the posters of this film and you’ll realize that sanity is indeed overrated. With so many period dramas and serious theme-based films releasing in 2019, we are sure that this laugh riot will be a welcome change. The movie is reportedly set to hit the theatres on 22nd February 2019.
