We’re almost into 2020 and soon, there will be new Punjabi films in cinemas to enjoy. The new year promises a lot more drama, comedy, romance, action, and thrills for Punjabi movie lovers. All your favorite actors and actresses would be returning on the big screen so keep an eye out for these upcoming releases to catch them in theatres near you. Here are the biggest upcoming Punjabi movies that are all geared up to hit theatres in 2020.

Jinde Meriye

This Pankaj Batra directorial stars him opposite Sonam Bajwa, wherein they play childhood friends who fall in love and plan to get married. But the girl’s family is against the decision as the boy has no future prospects and challenge him to have a prosperous career before marriage. But he chooses an illegal way to be successful, which puts his relationship in jeopardy. Do you think the lovebirds will work past their problems? Find out in theatres on the 24th of January.


Starring Dev Kharoud in a prominent role, this drama is directed by Inderpal Singh and produced by Binnu Dhillon. Not much has been revealed about the plot yet but from the poster, this film appears to be a serious drama. It is slated for a release on the 7th of February.

Ik Sandhu Hunda Si

Directed by Rakesh Mehta, this movie stars Gippy Grewal and Neha Sharma in prominent roles with Pawan Malhotra and Vikramjeet Virk in supporting roles. It appears to be a thriller and will release in cinemas on the 21st of February.


After a long wait, this Simerjit Singh drama will finally hit theatres on the 17th of April. It stars Kulwinder Billa in the lead role.

Hera Pheri

Director Smeep Kang and actor Binnu Dhillon are set to reunite for the Punjabi remake of the popular Bollywood classic comedy. Gurpreet Ghuggi also plays a prominent role in the film, which is set for a release on the 24th of April.


This Rupinder Chahal drama has Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa in the lead roles. The movie will release in theatres on the 12th of June.

Phatte Dinde Chakk Punjabi

Director Smeep Kang will also be reuniting with Gippy Grewal this year for a drama that will make you swell with Punjabi pride. The movie will be released on the 26th of June.


Punjab da puttar Diljit Dosanjh will mark his return to Pollywood this year with Ambardeep Singh’s drama, which will hit theatres on the 26th of June.
