Bollywood has a long list of movies revolving around friendship, but very few of them explore the angle of female friendships. Breaking that trend is the most awaited wedding movie of the year – Veere Di Wedding. Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen on screen for the first time since her pregnancy. This is also the second venture together for the Kapoor sisters (Sonam and Rhea) after AishaRhea Kapoor is the co-producer of the movie along with Ekta Kapoor and Nikhil Dwivedi. The story of the film revolves around four friends who are in their pursuit of true love. Sumeet Vyas will be seen playing Kareena's boyfriend.

Starring two of the most stylish ladies of B-town – Kareena and Sonam, this movie is highly anticipated, especially by the female fan-base. The movie was officially announced in June 2016, but the shoot got delayed because of Bebo's pregnancy. It was also in the news that Kareena recommended Rhea to cast someone else for her role as she didn't want the film to get delayed but Rhea was insistent, and the principal photography of the film started in September 2017 with Bebo, Sonam, Swara and Shikha in the lead roles.

The movie went on three elaborate schedules in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangkok. The first look of the movie was released in October 2016 via two posters. In one of the posters, the leading ladies were sporting designer lehengas and in the second one, they ditched the lehengas for a sherwani and pagdi.

While VDW was under production, another movie starring Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda and Jimmy Shergill was released – Veerey Ki Wedding. A legal action was taken by Anil Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor on the film for using such a similar name. It went unsuccessful as IMPAA agreed for both movies to release with their respective similar titles. Veerey Ki Wedding released on 2nd of March but couldn't impress the audience much.

Initially, Veere Di Wedding was to release on 18th May 2018 but was later rescheduled to 1st June, which happens to be Ekta Kapoor's nephew and Tusshar Kapoor's son, Lakkshya's birthday. The cast and crew took to Twitter to announce the new wedding date. The Veere Di Weeding trailer is out. Watch it below.
