The awards season is almost over, but not before the grandest of them all takes place more than a month from now. The Academy Awards, more popularly known as the Oscars, is the only one left and is the most coveted of them all. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

After sweeping the awards for Best Picture at the Golden Globe Awards and IGN Awards, this drama film – written, produced, and directed by Martin McDonagh – is all set to conquer the Academy Awards, where it received seven nominations. Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell are favorites to win Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor respectively. Watch the film as it releases in theatres across India this Friday.

The Shape of Water

The movie has received 13 Oscar nominations, the most prominent being Best PictureBest Director (Guillermo Del Toro), Best Actress (Sally Hawkins), Best Original Screenplay, and Best Original Score (Alexandre Desplat). It is the movie to watch this month and you can read our review here.

The Post

With Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in the cast, there’s no reason to skip this movie. Nominated for Best Picture and Best Actress, this political thriller depicts the period when journalists from The Washington Post exposed the involvement of the US government in the Vietnam War.
