Weekend Collections Of Rajinikanth’s Films Prove Why He’s India’s Most Bankable Star

We all know the Thalaiva is supreme at the box office. The amount of superstardom Rajinikanth has achieved might not be achieved again. He is unbeatable at the box office and extremely phenomenal.


His recent outing at the box office this weekend was Kaala and the box office records have been shattered as expected. With a good start at the box office with an earning of ₹6.7 crores in India and $1 million in the United States. The film started fifth on Australian box office and has already grossed over A$206,000, earning A$105,672 on Thursday and A$100,672 on Friday. The total collection has been of ₹64.4 domestically in the first four days.

Here is how much moolah movies starring Rajinikanth have earned in the recent past.

2010- Enithiran


The movie that changed how everyone saw regional cinema was Enithiran (Robot in Hindi). The movie also starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Enithiran earned ₹244 crores worldwide. It still remains the fourth-highest-grossing South Indian film of all time. The movie made  ₹95 crores in the first three days of its release.

2014- Kochadaiiyaan


The animated multilingual film that starred Deepika Padukone opposite the Thalaivva was a memorable one. It earned ₹101 crores at the global box office. Kochadaiiyaan collected ₹42 crores in the first weekend.

2014- Lingaa


Rajinikanth’s second release in 2014 was Lingaa. It raked ₹51 crores in its first weekend itself. The movie went on to collect₹157 crores worldwide. Lingaa was the fastest Tamil film to earn ₹100 crores in its first weekend itself.

2016- Kabali


The movie that shattered the box office collections was Kabali. It earned ₹677 crores in total. The movie also starred Radhika Apte. Kabali managed to rake ₹250 crores in its first weekend itself.
