A psychopathic serial killer Pandey (Prashant Narayanan) kills women (prostitutes specifically) for pleasure. Loves to hear them scream and yell in pain. He gets off on that. Ex-cop Arjun Bhagwat (Emraan Hashmi) uses a known prostitute as bait to track the vicious killer down. Arjun’s attempts however don’t go as planned. Priya (Jacqueline Fernandez) is a model in love with Arjun and also happens to be Pandey’s next victim. It is now up to Arjun to save her.
Review on the go:
Mallika’s Bheege Honth was the only murderous thing in the first film. This one however is definitely more murderous. No less sensual but definitely more murderous. Don’t go expecting a raunchy film revolving around some murder. It’s a film with several gruesome murders and some added sensuality.
Now, apart from the half baked love angle between Arjun and Priya, the film is not half bad. Prashant Narayanan is flawless as the psychotic woman hater. Emraan seems comfortable with the specially created Bhatt camp role. Jacqueline earns her new oomph queen stamp. But where decent performances raise the bar, poor writing bring it back down.
Having said that, I should add that Mohit Suri is one of the few directors who can get away with poorly justified characters. He has a particular style, a dark, music induced tone and treatment in his films that make them watchable despite its obvious flaws. With murder 2, he’s introduced a darker side to the trade seduction and sensuality.
Verdict: Go ahead, watch it, you might be surprised.
