Music Essentials: August (Part II)

When a month starts off with a new single by Buddy Guy, you know it’s going to be a good month for music. Born to Play Guitar kicked off August 2015, preparing all of us for a wild ride!

The first half of the month brought along some stellar releases, and the second half looks just as exciting – if not better! If you haven’t heard some of the more amazing releases this month, look no further. We’ve put them all together in one place, just for you. Here are 5 amazing songs that you can’t miss out on, this week:

High By The Beach – Lana Del Rey

After what feels like a century, Lana Del Rey has returned with the lead single from Honeymoon. Though the dreamy track has that signature Lana Del Rey sound, it still feels fresh and new – a balance only LDR can strike.

M3LL155X – FKA twigs

We couldn’t pick just one track from FKA twigs‘ newest EP, M3LL15X. Luckily for fans everywhere, the songstress has shared the whole record on YouTube. Accompanied by videos as weirdly wonderful as FKA herself, the EP is dark, mysterious and enchanting!

Rolling Stone – Hurts

Hurts have come a long way since Wonderful Life, and Rolling Stone is proof of just that. The band has deviated from their original sound enough to keep things interesting, but not enough for them to lose the magic that’s so uniquely theirs. We couldn’t ask for more.

I Feel Love (Every Million Miles) – The Dead Weather

The album that we’ve been looking forward to for 5 years is almost here! Though the first single only comes out this weekend, this teaser has us itching for more! In fact, we no longer remember how we spent 5 years without any new music from The Dead Weather.

Let It Happen – Tame Impala

We were already loving Tame Impala‘s newest release, Currents. But then, the trippy new video for Let It Happen came along and made us love this track even more. If we had any doubts about our favorite song on the record, we don’t anymore!
