10 Retro Hits you Heard Again in the Last Decade

It's not too hard to guess that Bollywood's newest musical trend has become remixing and remaking songs from the Golden Era, considering the frequency at which they are modifying them. The very recent and trending one being Hawa Hawa from Mubarakan which is actually inspired by the song in the 1994 movie Insaaf Apne Lahoo Se Hawa Hawa, Khusboo Luta De. To think of it, although they are not original, these mixes are increasing the popularity of the retro songs among the young people who haven't actually heard the originals. Don't you agree? And to be honest, they are quite groovy. Here are some of the popular tunes from the last decade, which are actually classical hits.

Bachna Ae Haseeno Lo Main Aagaya -Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008)

The 2008 song starring Ranbir Kapoor is actually a remake of his father's song from the movie Hum Kisise Kam Nahi.

Aapka Kya Hoga – Housefull (2010)

The item number Dhanno which Jacqueline danced to is a remake of the song Aapka Kya Hoga Janaabe Ali from the 1981 movie Lawaaris.

Dum Maaro Dum- Dum Maaro Dum (2011)

The title track of the 2011 movie Dum Maaro Dum which saw a stunning Deepika Padukone is remade on Zeenat Aman's song from Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971).

Naa Jaane Kahaan Se Aaaya Hai- I Me Aur Main (2013)

Well, this song is a little tweaked but we like John Abraham as much as we liked Sridevi in this song in ChaalBaaz.

Tumhe Apna Banaane Ka Junoon – Hate Story 3 (2015)

This one transformed from a romantic love song to a sensuous love making song. If you're still unaware, this song is a remake of Tumhe Apna Banaane Ki Kasam Khaayi Hai from the Sanjay Dutt-Pooja Bhatt starrer Sadak (1991).

Oye Oye – Azhar (2016)

While Tridev (1989) saw three beauties dance to this number, Nargis Fakhri single-handedly managed to do justice to the remake.

Laila Main Laila – Raees (2017)

Although there were a lot of remakes of this song from Qurbani starring Zeenat Aman, the one with Sunny Leone was the only one that qualified as a comparable remake.

Tamma Tamma – Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017)

Our favorite disco song from this year is a remake of Madhuri Dixit's popular number from the movie Thanedaar (1991).

The Humma Song – Ok Jaanu (2017)

Not like the Manish Koirala's Hamma Hamma was any less popular but the Aditya Roy Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor's version only added to the popularity.

Saara Zamaana – Kaabil (2017)

While the song from Amitabh Bachchan's 1981 film Yaarana was already a hit, we are still trying to get over Urvashi Rautela's moves from her item number in Kaabil.
