Another year. Another exciting line-up of albums to look forward to.

There are so many reasons we’re excited for 2016. From our favorite TV shows coming back to the movies set to hit theatres, there’s a lot in store. And the music scene looks just as exciting as we hoped… If not more.

From highly-anticipated comebacks to promising debuts, we can’t wait for this year’s musical offerings. So, if you’re a music buff, it’s time to get excited for 2016. Don’t know why? Here are 7 albums that prove 2016 will be a good year for music fans:

Blackstar – David Bowie
Release date: January 8, 2016

We don’t usually jump the gun when it comes to albums. After all, even our favorite artists have occasionally disappointed us. But it’s safe to say that David Bowie’s 25th album is one exciting reason to look forward to 2016.

Hymns – Bloc Party
Release date: January 29, 2016

After Four and The Nextwave Sessions, we weren’t sure about what to expect from Hymns. But the lead single, The Love Within, has shown us one thing. While we may not know what exactly to expect, we know it’s going to be good.

Untitled Debut Album – Alice Glass
Release date: To Be Announced

Is it possible not to love Crystal Castles‘ former lead singer? We don’t think so. Alice Glass is all set to make her debut as a solo artist, and we can’t wait to hear what she has in store. Whether or not it’s like Crystal Castle’s music, we know it’s going to be good.

Painting With – Animal Collective
Release date: February 19, 2016

The music scene is constantly changing. However, if there’s one thing that we can rely on, it’s Animal Collective‘s music being wonderfully weird. Floridada, the lead single from their upcoming album, sounds like it could be off their album Strawberry Jam. If that’s not a compliment, we don’t know what is.

Is the Is Are – DIIV
Release date: February 5, 2016

DIIV has had a good run so far. In the last three years, the band has put out their debut LP, played across the globe and won hearts everywhere. Though they could’ve easily been victims of sophomore album syndrome, the lead single makes it clear that Is the Is Are will live up to the hype.

Radio Silence – James Blake
Release date: To Be Announced

When James Blake debuted a new song at Big Guava Fest, we couldn’t wait for the album that was sure to follow. And if the live performance of the titular track is any indication, Radio Silence is going to be James Blake’s best album yet.

Untitled Second Album – The Last Shadow Puppets
Release date: To Be Announced

Just when TLSP fans had lost all hope of a second album, they were treated to an epic teaser for the duo’s next record. We can’t wait to see what Alex Turner and Miles Kane have in store for us. Spring 2016 can’t come soon enough!
