The Coronavirus pandemic has dramatically changed the face of the entertainment industry. While we’re confined to our homes, it is only logical that entertainment comes to us, which is why we’re seeing a spate of live streaming gigs these days. One such event is the Common Roots Festival, an online music festival in which 30 talented musicians will perform for a social cause. The line-up features Aabha Hanjura, Ricky Kej, Quque Mantambo, Al Parkinson and Alisha Batth (pictured above) among others.

Over the next few days, we’ll be compiling playlists of some of the artists performing at the Common Roots Festival. Alisha Batth is a singer-songwriter based in Mumbai, whose music is heavily inspired by punk, folk, girls, the 90’s, land and natural phenomena. She has also performed in season two of MTV’s Coke Studio, on the track Do Gallan. Here are some of her singles.
