Sound Check: Badrinath Ki Dulhania

Verdict: Formulaic but worth a shot.

Often the soundtrack of a movie gives you an idea about the film itself. The Badrinath Ki Dulhania album works well that way. The music for the film has been composed by Amaal Mallik, Tanishk Bagchi and Akhil Sachdeva while the lyrics have been written by Kumaar, Shabbir Ahmed, Akhil Sachdeva and Badshah

The movie is the sequel to Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. While the 2014 film threw up hits like Saturday Saturday and Samjhawan this edition boasts of artists like Arijit Singh, Dev Negi and Shreya Ghosal on the album.

The first track Aashiq Surrender Hua, sung by Amaal Mallik, and Shreya Ghoshal is sang with great energy. This song is sure to set the dance floor on fire. Roke Na Ruke Naina sung by Arijit Singh and composed by Amaal Mallik sounds like a wonderful fusion number with the coming together of the Indian instruments and the western style.

Akhil Sachdeva looks good to make his mark in the industry with Humsafar that he composed for the album, which has been sung by Mansheel Gujral. The song with some soulful lyrics coupled with the unique voice of Gujral is bound to move you.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania

The title track Badri Ki Dulhania has been sung by Dev Negi, Neha Kakkar, Monali Thakur, and Ikka and has been composed by Tanishk Bagchi. With the video to the song released, this song is climbing the popularity charts and looks good to become an earworm at the very first listen.

While Badri Ki Dulhania borrows from a popular song, Tamma Tamma Again is the remix of the very popular Tamma Tamma Loge from the 1990 Sanjay Dutt-Madhuri Dixit-starrer Thanedaar. This remake by Tanishk Bagchi retains the original artists and adds a contemporary touch, which is surely going to find favor among the youth.

The album in entirety follows the tried-and-tested routes and while there is little one might call unique about Badrinath Ki Dulhania, keep a copy for the next time you have friends over and a house party in order. Some songs on this CD will ensure the mood remains lively. Do let us know what you think of our Badrinath Ki Dulhania music review in the comments section below.
