7 Times Fans Paid A Tribute To A. R. Rahman

One of the names that stand out when you think of 90's music is A. R. Rahman. Many kids who were born during that time have grown up to the tunes of Roja and Bombay. There are many kids today who can shake a leg on Jai Ho. A. R. Rahman might have only been there for 25 years but there is no denying his influence on multiple generations.

His music remains fresh even after being remixed (case in point: The Humma Song). His music travels through languages (read: Hosanna). His appeal is international and his fans who have a musical inclination leave no stone unturned in paying a tribute to the maestro.

Paradigm Shift
Paradigm Shift performed an instrumental rendition of Roja at BlueFrog in Mumbai. The song starts off as the original did and not after long, there is a rock remix added to it. Watch the video below to see this epic tribute.

This US-based classical choir group has paid tribute to the maestro with their rendition of the Rahman's Tamil hit Balleilakka.

Berklee Indian Ensemble (Boston)
Dressed in white and red, this group performed a fantastic cover of Kun Faaya Kun.

Berklee Contemporary Ensemble (Mumbai)
The students in India are not going to be left behind and they performed an amazing tribute to the maestro at The Loft in Mumbai.

The Revisit Project
This band converted Rahman hits into jazz and blues melodies. The group starts off with the Bombay theme and moves on to the title track of Roja. The set ends with the classic hit Humma Humma.

Birmingham Symphony Orchestra
One of Rahman's earliest works, Roja, has a powerful reach. Even the orchestra in Birmingham could not help but perform it on stage.
