Verdict: A euphonious medley that will set your soul free.

Bollywood never gets tired of tried and tested content. This usually results in a concept being done to death. But certain filmmakers attempt to change this fixed formula and give us content that is not only unique but also cinematically aesthetic. One such film to hit the screens this Friday is Lucknow Central. Starring the gifted artist Farhan Akhtar opposite the beautiful Diana Penty, alongside a talented ensemble comprising the likes of Deepak DobriyalRonit RoyRajesh Sharma and Inaamulhaq, Lucknow Central is a prison escape film.

The film is already getting rave reviews by celebrities who attended the film’s special screening. An amazing climax awaits all those who are going to watch it this Friday. In a film that talks about a group of prisoners who form their own band in order to escape, music will definitely qualify as the most important element. Lucknow Central’s album, consisting of five songs, doesn’t disappoint as the songs soulfully communicate the film’s underlying tones of freedom, passion and unfulfilled dreams.

Here is the complete review of the film`s album.

Kaavaan Kaavaan
A remake of the original number from Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding, Kaavaan Kaavan is rearranged by Arjunna Harjaie who gives the necessary brushing to emote undertones of freedom. Sung by Divya Kumar, the song is no doubt high on energy but you simply cannot forget Sukhwinder’s high pitched vocals in the original.

Sung by Amit Mishra and Neeti Mohan, this is a ballad of love with a sufi touch to it. The instruments used, especially the sound of the guitar strings, add more magic while also providing a western base. This is one of the best songs from the album.

Teen Kabootar
A peppy party number, Teen Kabootar resembles a typical jam session where band members create both acoustic and electric music to end up with something musical. Mohit Chauhan and Divya Kumar’s commendable singing along with Kumar’s quirky lyrics and the percussion set up by Taufiq Qureshi make this number both entertaining and musically satisfying.

This semi-classical number with Arijit Singh on vocals is a decent sufi song with the typical Arijit touch to it. It has now become a trend in Bollywood to have at least one sufi number in every Bollywood film.

Baaki Rab Pe Chhod De
The song features an ensemble of singers comprising Brijesh ShandllyaArman HasanVayu and Tanishk Bagchi. High on energy, this song is perfect for all those days when you feel low and depressed about everything.
