March was a mixed bag full of old and new artists across all genres belting hits with truly something for everyone. Whether you like Bruno Mars (who doesn't?), hip-hop of the likes of Jason Derulo and Nicki Minaj, the beats of Linkin Park, Lorde's powerful voice, or even the slightly more obscure sound of Gorillaz, they all released new songs this month. Look no further for the most popular March music releases, these are the tracks you have to listen to:
That's What I Like – Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars is an artist everybody likes and this has been proven yet again. With over a hundred million views and counting, this is only the second music video from his latest album. The neat little video might be a complete contrast to the lavish 24K Magic, but Bruno's magic still works.
Beauty and the Beast – Ariana Grande and John Legend
The live-action adaptation of Disney's Beauty and the Beast was one of the biggest releases in Hollywood and with the music being a big part of it, we got to hear a new version of the title track sung by two of the biggest stars right now – Ariana Grande and John Legend. Remember the one by Céline Dion and Peabo Bryson?
I Feel It Coming – The Weeknd feat Daft Punk
Vintage is back in style with The Weeknd's latest hit, specifically vintage space. With Daft Punk looking vaguely like Sith Lords from Star Wars and a seemingly inspired Michael Jackson-vibe, you will feel like you're traveled in time to the eighties.
Green Light – Lorde
The last song from Lorde was a Hunger Games track back in 2014. She's proven with this song that she won't be leaving the music arena anytime soon. It's a dance track that starts slow and picks up the pace but it still retains Lorde's original style from her popular singles like Team.
Swalla – Jason Derulo feat. Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign
Jason Derulo has gone all out in this music video featuring a new look, technicolor dazzle, candies, eye-candies, and of course the two other big-name artists, Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. Nicki also released two other collaborations and one single but nothing can beat this banger.
Symphony – Clean Bandit feat. Zara Larsson
Clear Bandit is an eclectic pop group that mixes orchestral elements with the more upbeat and contemporary electronic music. They hit big with their last single, Rockabye and they've managed to top the success of their previous track with this collaboration with Zara Larsson of the Lush Life fame.
Hypnotised – Coldplay
Shortly after releasing the track with The Chainsmokers last month, Coldplay released a new single of their very own. With all the experimentation in music, this track brings the band to what it does best – a slow ballad in the veins of Atlas and Yellow. The lyric video is a beautiful one, aptly shot to suit their upcoming EP Kaleidoscope.
Saturnz Barnz – Gorillaz
Gorillaz is a virtual band with animated musicians known for their distinctive animated music videos. After their last album in 2011, they are finally returning this year and they've already made waves with this unique 360-degree music video that you can explore while listening to their trap-style beats and catchy verses.
Heavy – Linkin Park feat. Kiara
Linkin Park has ventured into the pop territory with their new track. While vastly different from the angsty rock style that made them popular back in the early 2000s, they've managed to do justice to the genre, even though some classic LP fans might be not too thrilled by the band's new direction.
The One – The Chainsmokers
Lately, no month can be complete without a single by The Chainsmokers. You'll be surprised to know that they'll be releasing their very first album Memories…Do Not Open this year and this fresh track will be a part of it. Just when we thought nothing new can be expected from the duo, this surprisingly introspective single proved us wrong.
