You can love him, or you can hate him, but you simply cannot ignore him. Narendra Modi is one of the most popular Prime Ministers we have had. His identity transcends Indian borders, making him one of the most influential leaders in the world today. In the two years since he became Prime Minister, he has been making headline news for his accomplishments. Today, NaMo celebrates the 66th birthday of his highly eventful and interesting life. And we can't help but think that a Bollywood film that showcases his journey is bound to be a blockbuster. Here’s who we think can play Narendra Modi in a biopic:
One of the most well-known and revered actors in India, Big B is like the Narendra Modi of Bollywood. Sr. Bachchan has also had his taste of politics on-screen with Sarkar, Aarakshan, and Satyagraha. He would undoubtedly be the best choice to play the Prime Minister.
Last seen in Mohenjo Daro, Kabir Bedi proved that his acting days are not yet over. He would definitely make an ideal Narendra Modi, as the two men even look alike. Take a look at that beard and decide for yourself!
The Hera Pheri actor is rumored to play Narendra Modi in a biopic, and we couldn’t help but be excited about the choice. Rawal will have no difficulty playing a Gujarati politician, being one himself. A little makeup will make him a photocopy of our Prime Minister.
Naseeruddin Shah can play anyone. Make a biopic on the Queen, and Naseer saab will be the perfect choice to play her, too. As for Narendra Modi, if there’s anyone is the industry who can add the necessary depth and drama to his character, it’s Shah.
If Ben Kingsley can play Gandhi, then why not Narendra Modi? He is the only Hollywood actor who can personify an Indian character. His portrayal of Gandhi won him a number of awards, including the Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA. As NaMo, Kingsley can only hope to achieve more.
