Nani, as he is popularly known as is one of the most bankable actors Telugu cinema has produced. Born Naveen Babu Ghanta, the actor worked as an assistant director and a radio jockey before he achieved fame as an actor that every director and producer want to work with. An ardent fan of the cinema, Nani discontinued his BSc studies as he wanted to pursue acting. Before he got his break into films with the movie Ashta Chamma directed by M. K. Indraganti in 2008 he worked as a radio jockey with the World Space Radio and was quite popular as Non Stop Nani.
After acting in a few Telugu movies like Ride and Paisa in 2009 and Bheemli Kabadi Jattu (2010), which was a remake of the Tamil film Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu. In Bheemli Kbadi Jattu, Nani portrays the role of a kabbadi player who is passionate about the sport. He later forayed into Tamil cinema with the movie Veppam (2011), which earned him the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) for the Best Male Debutant.
S.S. Rajamouli directed bilingual movie Eega which also starred Kiccha Sudeep and Samantha Ruth Prabhu made him a popular face among the movie lovers. From here on, the actor has only given superhits like Janda Pai Kapiraju (2015), Bale Bale Magadivoy (2015), Yevade Subramanyam (2015). In 2016, he acted in four movies – Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha, Gentleman, Jyo Achyutananda, Majnu, all of which were hits.
