All You Need to Know about Noah

There aren’t many directors who can hold a candle to the maverick (Darren) Aronofosky, who has time and again proved his mettle with some exemplary films like ‘Requiem For A Dream’ and ‘Black Swan’. And now with a budget of $130 million at his disposal, Aronofsky, finally has the chance to fully realize his vision of a grand scale, effects-heavy apocalyptic blockbuster.
Noah, the larger-than-life film, directed by Darren Aronofsky, is an epic tale of courage, sacrifice and hope. It features Noah having visions of an apocalyptic deluge, thereby taking measures to protect his family and saving innocent animals from the coming flood. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark that could save God’s creation from the devastating flood.
Noah boasts of a heavyweight star cast, comprising Academy Award winners Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly as Noah and his wife, Naameh, respectively. It also stars Oscar Award winner Anthony Hopkins, the ever-so gorgeous Emma Watson and Ray Winstone as a rainy bad guy.
Russell Crowe, the star of Oscar-winning films such as Gladiator and A Beautiful Mind, is going to portray the titular figure for Aronofsky. There has been a unanimous verdict claiming that the veteran and usually dependable Crowe will be a dab hand at an intense role such as this. The role required the actor to portray the character that lives for several hundred years, resulting in an older-looking Russell, with a salt-and-pepper beard and long hair. The ace actor went all out to make his character’s journey on the famed Ark look as realistic as possible. The journey of his character spreads across decades, with his look changing as the character progresses.  Russell recently shared on Twitter, “Noah lived until he was 940 years old… probably going to be a long movie.”
The theatrical trailer of the film was released in November last year. The trailer begins with a breathtaking shot of a growing stream of water and eventually moves on to impressive CG animals entering the ark, and the flooding of the world with cataclysmic rain. There have been speculations on how accurate to the Bible is this film going to be? Producer of the film, Scott Franklin, told Entertainment Weekly in the beginning of the year: "Noah is a very short section of the Bible with a lot of gaps, so we definitely had to take some creative expression in it. But I think we stayed very true to the story and didn’t really deviate from the Bible."

There was a thirty-five second clip that was released during NFL’s first cold weather Super Bowl, featuring apocalyptic flood scenes and images of widespread destruction.

The latest to hit the social media circles is a Flood Motion Poster. The visual begins with a shot of the Ark from above, speeding down towards Noah. A drop of water falling on his forehead gives a hint of the upcoming catastrophe. This motion poster encapsulates it all:

Noah is a just a month shy of hitting the silver screens, and the anticipation is just beginning to proliferate with each passing day. Will it live up to the skyrocketed expectations? For now, we just have to wait with bated breaths to find the answer to that question.
