Why do you need be at the NBA Jam?

The hardwood court squeaks, shouts of ‘here, here’ are heard, the shot clock counts down, there are just 10 seconds left, the crowd roars, a flick and silence. Swish, nothing but net. The roar becomes a crescendo, one team snatches victory from the jaws of defeat and one guy has turned into a hero.

Ladies and Gentlemen, that is Basketball!
Hold on, whenever this has happened, we have had to watch these nerve-racking moments from our couches. We haven’t had a chance to just be there, and breathe in the atmosphere, feel the tension and experience the surge of excitement. But don’t fret anymore, we’ve got the NBA Jam now. Get your fix straight from the court. Yes, the Jam is in India. The NBA is looking to get more involved in the Indian Basketball scene and with that, we will get amazing teams, brilliant athletes, cunning strategy and more than anything, we will have a chance to howl for victory.

Basketball has been a tough game to play ever since its inception. It was invented to keep players fit during the winter months, by playing indoors. The concept was to keep the cardiovascular exercise and hand-eye coordination maintained. But this game developed a life of its own. It went on to be played in colleges and soon the franchises were born. Once there were state teams, the need for a common playing field came about. This led to the formation of the NBA, National Basketball Association. To be called up for the NBA is one of the best ways to go from obscurity to fame instantaneously. For a lot of the players in the past, the game was one of two ways out of poverty. This also made for some of the iconic stories told in cinema. We have everything from underdog stories, to racial divides, to hustling, to brotherhood, to salvation and family. It is odd that such a game can encapsulate all of that. But it has. Hollywood has found inspiration and given us movies such as The Basketball Diaries, White Men Can’t Jump, He Got Game, Finding Forrester, Space Jam, Hoosiers, Coach Carter, Glory Road, Eddie and many more. Nearly all of these movies have the core based around basketball or on it. We have idolized the greats of this game and watched them play in the wee hours of the morning and struggled to stay awake in class. We have gotten our hands on the jerseys of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, Scotty Pippen, LeBron James, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O’Neal and more. And there have been days when we have just spent hours shooting hoops. All in all, this game is in our hearts.

So there you have it, you know that the Jam is here. Get your tickets and watch the game unfold.
Cheer your favorites on and feel the pulse!
