Verdict: A love story with an attitude and a Midas touch.
Nenu Local starring Nani and Keerthy Suresh is produced by “Dil” Raju and directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, who recently directed the commercial hit Cinema Choopistha Mama. This is for the first time that Nani is teamed up with Keerthy Suresh and Trinadha Rao Nakkina. There are decent expectations surrounding this flick as Nani and Dil Raju are churning out back-to-back hits. Let’s see if they were able to repeat their success with Nenu Local.
The movie starts with Babu (Nani) being held at gunpoint and then moves into the flashback mode. Babu is the only pampered son of his middle-class parents and falls in love with Keerthy (Keerthy Suresh) at first sight. Babu joins the same college for masters where Keerthy studies. As time progresses, Keerthy slowly falls in love with Babu. Sidharth Varma (Naveen Chandra) is an SI and falls in love with Keerthy as well. Keerthy’s father supports Sidharth whereas her mother supports Babu. What happens to their love story? Why is Babu held at gunpoint? Why does Keerthy’s father hate Babu? Will Babu’s parents support his love? To know all these, watch Nenu Local at a theater near you.
Nani as Babu looks refreshing in a massy role, where he does anything for his love. He has single-handedly carried the movie on this shoulders and has shown tremendous improvement in his dances. Keerthy Suresh as Keerthy is charming and beautiful. The chemistry between the lead pair is awesome and there is no doubt that Keerthy Suresh will make it big soon in this industry. Sachin Khedekar and Tulasi as Keerthy's parents were perfect in their roles. Posani Krishna Murali excelled in the role of Babu’s father. Naveen Chandra has toned his body to get that muscular look and looks perfect in the role of a police officer. Rest of the cast is adequate.
Direction by Trinadha Rao Nakkina is decent and could have been better. Story, dialogues and screenplay by Prasanna Kumar Bezawada are praiseworthy. Surender Reddy has contributed to the screenplay as well. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is awesome and all the songs are already chartbusters. Cinematography by Nizar Shafi is fantastic. All the visuals looked great and glossy. Production values by Sri Venkateswara Creations are, as usual, at their best. Editing is crisp and well trimmed to 143 minutes runtime.
Why You Should Watch This Movie:
What makes “Nenu Local” work is the massy approach of a classy hero Nani and the beautiful romantic angle between the lead pair. It has all the commercial ingredients that are required for a movie to work at box-office.
