The Origin Stories We Need And Deserve

Every multi-starrer movie misses out on some origin stories which could be very interesting and instead focuses on the main characters. Yes, we agree that the movie is about the main characters. But haven’t you looked at the screen sometimes, watching a peculiar character, and wondered-  where does this guy come from? What makes these fascinating characters the way they are? Don’t you agree that there are some great and sometimes chuckle-worthy stories behind those characters that should be explored? For example, you must have wondered what did Sambha do apart from answering the question “Kitne aadmi the?” Deadpool got his own movie on popular demand and it’s time some of our Bollywood characters get their origin stories, too.

Circuit from Munnabhai

Circuit - BookMyShow

We know what happens with Circuit after the movie ends. But what about before? What was little Circuit like? You will agree that his friendship with Munnabhai is one of those friendship goals you always wanted to achieved. His one-liners and his ability to take things literally (remember the body scene in the first movie?) will always leave us in splits.

Bhavani Shankar from Golmaal (1979)

Bhavani Shankar - BookMyShow

A brilliantly sketched character who is unknowingly the source of the comedy of errors in the film. A guy who sticks to his ideals and has nothing but love for his daughters. It would be interesting to see what happens when this guy goes looking for his first job and then his first love (Eeesh!).

Ganesh from Run

Probably the only highlight of that movie (you will agree), that 20-minute segment since then has been viewed more than 200,000 times on YouTube. This kind of appreciation for a character should get him his own movie with a new hilarious bunch of misadventures.

Jailer from Sholay

Jailer Sholay - BookMyShow

Don’t you want to see “Angrezon ke zamaane ka jailer” in the age of the British. Imagine him working under the officers before Independence and learning the ‘skill’ of taking care of prisoners from them. That movie we would definitely watch.

Asif Merchant from Bheja Fry

There is no doubt that Bharat Bhushan was an iconic and a memorable character and the movies were perfect. But a movie about his Pakistan-supporting best friend couldn’t go wrong either. Looking at him, you feel he is a child who has grown up too soon and that is what makes both these characters so different and funny.

George Kutty from Airlift
Airlift - BookMyShow

The movie gave us goosebumps and invoked a feeling of pride for our country. There was one guy who stood apart from all those who were rescued. That guy was George Kutty. He is that guy you don’t like that much but end up getting stuck with. He is that guy who orders you around and you follow without realizing how that happened. He is that guy on whom a Bollywood movie should be made.

RGV aka Raghu in All the Best

If you have watched the movie, we need not give you any justification as to why a movie about this character would be a laugh riot. If you haven’t watched this movie, we suggest you watch the video below.

Pandurang from Golmaal: Fun Unlimited

Pandurang - BookMyShow

The guy with some serious moves and even more serious snake tattoo. His snake impressions are spot-on and it would be awesome to know how he got all those moves.

Ali from Dhoom

Ali - BookMyShow

How many people do you know, who dream about a life with kids and marriage, with every girl they meet? He is completely devoted to his mother and his bike and he is continuously searching for love. He is always optimistic, and he is a rage on a bike. A movie introducing Ali before meeting Jai Dixit, can be the plot of the next movie, maybe.

Principal from Main Hoon Na

Principal - BookMyShow

The most memorable characteristic about this character was his lack of memory (yes, we see the irony). Apart, from that, if you saw the movie more than once (like we did), you will notice that he is a big fan of Harry Potter ( a man after our own heart). Enough said, he needs his own movie and the other professors could be a part of it, too.

Crime Master Gogo from Andaz Apna Apna

Crime Master Gogo - BookMyShow

We saved the best for the last. Mogambo’s nephew certainly failed to make his mark in the crime world. But, he will not lose hope and he will continue to try, till he becomes the ultimate bad man. He is certainly capable of it.

What do you think of our list? Do you have some more characters we can add here? Please write in the comments below and don’t forget to share and spread the cheer.
