The Oscars are the most – awaited ceremony honoring top achievements in the film industry and the celebrities look their dazzling best for the event. Most actors come in classy, magnificent gowns drizzled with a high dosage of élan. This Oscar season was dominated by lots of nude colours, peplums and a lot of bling. We list you some of the best and worst dressed at the Oscars.
The stunning Jennifer Lawrence donned one of the best looks on the Red Carpet. She sizzled in her red hot, Christian Dior peplum gown teamed with a Neil Lane necklace worth a whopping 3 million dollars! Her hair that was lightly combed-back added to the classy look of the star. So the next time you’re apprehensive about teaming up a gown with crop hair, just picture yourself as Miss. Lawrence.
Dressed in a well-fitted beaded gown by Atelier Versace, Kate Hudson evoked elegance at the red carpet; in the plunging neckline and an attached vintage-styled cape, Kate looked every bit like a true Hollywood star. Her perfect hair and make-up complimented the glamorous look.
The Blue Jasmine star, Cate Blanchet looked dreamy in an embellished Armani Prive gown. The well-fitted material included sequences with Swarovski stones embedded in them. Her rosy make up, and softly brushed hair made her look ever so radiant. She went on to winning the Best Actress Award at the end of the show.
Her role in 12 Years a Slave fetched her the award for the Best Supporting Role at the ceremony. The 31 year-old star looked every bit a princess in her Cinderella-style gown. The actress had had this pale blue Prada gown custom-made and teamed it with a Fred Leighton headband. The peachy color on her lips and light-grey eye shadow complimented her elegant outfit.
If the Oscars nominated her in the Best Actress category, then we would like to nominate Sandra Bullock in the Best Dressed category. The Gravity star sashayed in a satin navy blue strapless Alexander McQueen gown. Her polished hair was side-swept with curls; the nude colored lips added every bit of the sophistication to the look.
It was quite surprising to see a star casually dressed at the biggest gala event. William Pharrell who was nominated for best original song for Despicable Me 2 wore a black tuxedo jacket with shorts. It wasn’t boring; it was just plain-shocking to see this at a classy event.
Best Baby Bump outfit
Three gorgeous women graced the Red Carpet with pregnant bellies – Olivia Wilde, Elsa Pataki and Kerry Washington. Olivia Wilde looked stunning in the full-length black gown with a deep back. She looked simple, yet elegant displaying her baby bump. We were worried for Elsa Pataki. It looked like her baby was going to pop out any minute. The fully embroidered heavy gown looked unpleasant and took all the attention off the baby bump. Kerry Washington’s gown was disappointing. It looked dull, loosely fit and didn’t showcase the pretty actress in full baby bump glory.
