Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2: Film Review – A Boys Only Film

Verdict: A fun take on relationships and their troubles.
Falling in love is one thing and maintaining a relationship is another. Pyaar ka Punchnama 2, the sequel to the 2011 hit film, tells us how tough the latter is.
The movie starts off with three friends who live together in a rented apartment. They share a great bond and lovingly abuse each other with the worst cuss words. Somehow, all three manage to meet the girls of their dreams on the same day. So, Chauka (Sunny Singh) falls for Supriya (Sonnalli Seygall) at a wedding in Meerut, Gogo (Kartik Aryan) bumps into Chicku (Nushrat Bharucha) at a party, and Thakur (Omkar Kapoor) can’t stop ogling Kusum (Ishita Raj), while working out at the gym.
All of them think that they are settled in life until their girlfriends start showing them their true colors. One’s girlfriend wants every bill to be split while happily allowing her guy to pay for her new iPhone. The other lacks the courage to introduce her boyfriend to her family, while the third
treats her guy like a driver by making him drive her and her friends around. The guys are obviously frustrated and how they deal with these problems forms the rest of the story.
Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’s biggest strength is the dialogues. Most of them are simply hilarious and the heroes get the best lines. Luv Ranjan has directed this film and he’s done a decent job. Even though the songs are lavishly shot, none of the tracks stand out.
The film is backed by excellent performances from its leading men. A special mention to Kartik Aaryan, (the only hero to be retained from the original film) who is brilliant in the seven-minute monologue in which he rants about girls in general. All the heroines in the first part are back in this sequel and all they have to do is play dumb and flaunt their bodies. In fact, with every passing scene they prove to be more stupid than you can imagine.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:
Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 showcases boys’ views on love and relationships, and is a decent one-time watch. It never takes itself too seriously, and some of the dialogues will definitely crack you up.
