If there's one word to describe Rajkummar Rao, it has to be versatile. The acting powerhouse has gone from playing a boy next door to an abusive husband and so much more in just a span of seven years. It is safe to say that he is one of the few in B-town who can play just about any role with just as much honesty and conviction. He can slip into the skin of any character, monstrous or not. Both in an all-too-convincing manner; even if it means not eating for 20 odd days like in the case of his first outing this year (Trapped).
While many actors aim to establish a glamorous image, Rao is busy exploring the actor in himself. Lately, he has been experimenting with a variety of looks, all for his films of course.
Few days ago, the teaser poster of his upcoming film, Behen Hogi Teri was released. We saw Rao sport a moon crescent on his head and a rudraksh bracelet. This is not all. Here are some of the other transformations he has gone through for his upcoming projects:
In the Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer, Raabta, Rajkummar will be seen essaying the role of a 324-year-old man. Apparently, some 16 look tests were done before the final one was picked. A special team team from Los Angeles got on board to etch the look for the actor.
The actor had to sit through five to six hours of prosthetic each day to get the look. In addition to that, his body posture and voice modulation also had to be worked upon. He wore accessories and also got the tattoos done for the character. Talk about dedication and doing what it takes to look the part!
It is true that Rao never shies away from going that extra mile. For his next project, Bose, an ALT-Balaji online streaming show that will be directed by Hansal Mehta, he has gone half-bald.
Recently, the actor took to social media to share the test look and also announced that the first look will be out soon. We're super excited!
Aami Saira Bano
The National Award-winning actor is set to play the role of a transgender in a Bengali film, titled, Ami Saira Bano.
To prepare for his role, he visited transgenders in Kolkata to get into the skin of the character. Apparently, Rao also had to lose weight and shave his entire body for the role. Is there anything he wouldn't do for his craft?
